Overview
40oz NY was a prominent streetwear brand that made waves in the fashion industry with its edgy designs and cultural relevance. As the principal designer, web developer/designer, administrator, customer support, and wholesale manager, I played a pivotal role in the brand’s success from a young age.
Background
Despite limited recognition, I was responsible for multiple roles within 40oz NY, leading the design and development efforts that contributed to the brand’s widespread recognition. My work wasn’t just limited to creating visually striking apparel; I also managed the brand’s digital presence, coordinated with remote teams, and ensured smooth operations across various facets of the business.
Celebrity Influence
The designs I created garnered attention from some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry, including Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar, and more. These celebrities wore pieces that I crafted on my limited ASUS computer, turning them into iconic looks (at the time) that significantly boosted the brand’s visibility and revenue.
Technologies and Services Provided
My contributions extended beyond design to include multiple eCommerce implementations on platforms such as WooCommerce, Magento, and eventually Shopify. These platforms supported the brand’s online sales, facilitating the growth of 40oz NY into a recognized name in streetwear and scaling services to serve 10s of thousands of concurrent customers with a fast and responsive user experience.
My responsibilities also involved collaborating with outside teams to produce final products and preparing promotional materials, ensuring the brand’s consistent presence in the market.
